Travis A. Berger is the Founder and Managing Partner of Vide Consulting Group and is an expert in the areas of leadership, organizational development, and strategy. Berger is an Assistant Professor of Business at Alvernia University and serves as the Coordinator for Alvernia’s Masters in Organizational Leadership program that he founded and developed. Professor Berger studies and researches how organizations can leverage their human capital and related processes, systems, and programs to drive long-term superior organizational performance.

He has delivered presentations on leadership, organizational development, and strategy at national, regional, and state conferences and has been invited to address organizational executives and top management teams. Berger is in high demand as a speaker and has delivered keynote addresses to professional organizations such as the Society for Human Resource Management and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Professor Berger was awarded the Twenty–Third Annual IUP Doctoral Fellowship and continues to progress toward earning a Ph.D. in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a B.A. with distinction from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, where he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society and tapped into the exclusive Skull & Bones Society. Mr. Berger was a scholarship athlete on the Men’s soccer team where he was part of a Big Ten Championship, earned Big Ten First-Team and Academic All-American honors, and served as captain his senior year.

Scott Ament

Scott Ament has over two decades of experience in brand development, advertising, multimedia, and web and graphic design, most notably working as Senior Multimedia and Graphic Designer in the Brand Marketing Department for USA TODAY. His work with Gannett Company, Inc. includes serving as the senior graphic artist, online director, web designer, and marketing specialist. Read more »

His visionary and creative work has positioned him as a leader in the industry and he has worked with businesses throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. He received a B.A. in Art with a concentration in Commercial Art from Millersville University and studied communication design at Kutztown University.

David J. Ferguson, MBA

David J. Ferguson has over 25 years of executive experience including strategic planning, brand development, supply chain logistics, finance, operations, sales, and marketing and is a business professor at Hodges University. As an executive, he most recently served as President for Translogistics, Inc (TLI), a logistics consulting firm founded in 1994 and headquartered in Pennsylvania, leading the firm to record sales in 2011. Prior to joining TLI in 2010, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Medalist Performance Sports Apparel and was a member of their Board of Directors until the business was sold in 2010. He was a member of the executive management team when he joined the company in 2002. He was then promoted to Executive Vice-President in 2004 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in 2006.

Mr. Ferguson was formerly the Director of Corporate Operations for Spring Ford Industries, Inc., a $140 million international apparel manufacturing company. During his 16–year career at Spring Ford Industries, he also held the key positions of Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.

Being passionate about serving and making a positive difference in his community, he served as a member of the Corporate Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Berks County, was on the Board of Directors for the Freedom Valley Family of YMCA’s, and was the President and Chairman of the Board for the Saint Pius X High School Hockey Organization.

Mr. Ferguson earned his MBA from Kutztown University and a B.A. in Accounting and Marketing from Alvernia University.

Caroline (Carrie) Fitzpatrick, Ph.D.

Dr. Caroline (Carrie) Fitzpatrick is an expert in communications media and qualitative research projects. She holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Linguistics, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies, a Master of Science in Educational Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Secondary English & Speech Education. Dr. Fitzpatrick is an internationally recognized thought leader and award winning professor who continues to lead her field. As a consultant at Vide Consulting Group, she works with clients in the following areas: social media management, communications technology, media campaigns, sustainability projects, and grant and technical writing. In addition, as an qualitative researcher she works with organizations to gather data that provide a depth of understanding vital for making informed decisions. Her methods include, but are not limited to, personal interviews, focus groups, oral histories, narrative inquiry, and ethnographic studies.

Fitzpatrick is a full-time faculty member of the Communications & English department at Alvernia University where she facilitates curricular initiatives that include new and revised courses, special topic studies, new program tracks, service-learning projects, and new media integration. Fitzpatrick has taught at every level of higher education: bachelor, master, and doctoral courses. Her teaching and research have been recognized with a number of awards including an Innovation Grant for Curriculum Development (2012), the Christian R. & Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence (2008), Sr. Mary Donatilla Legacy Award for Outstanding Faculty Service (2007), an IUP Doctoral Fellowship for Academic Excellence (2003), an Innovative Teaching Grant for Technology Integration (2001), and the St. Bernardine Award for Excellence in Teaching (2000). She is active in adult and graduate education as a member of the research faculty; serves as a chair or committee member on several capstone, thesis, and dissertation committees; and serves on the University’s Institutional Review Board. She is the co-founder and co-director of a new Master of Arts program in Communication, Culture, and Leadership that is scheduled to launch in Fall 2013.

As a scholar, Fitzpatrick presents and publishes both nationally and internationally, traveling throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. Her specialties include media advocacy, social media management, communication law, new media technology, qualitative research methods, community sustainability, and cultural studies and preservation. She serves on the Executive Board of the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, and she chairs a special interest group on Mass Media and Society for the Pennsylvania Communication Association. She is also certified in technical and grant-writing and has assisted in securing more than $500,000 in grants and federal appropriations within the last three years.

Fitzpatrick regularly coordinates educational overseas travel to Europe and the Caribbean that includes cultural readings, historical sites, and community-based research and service projects. Since 2011, she facilitates the completion of action research and service learning with undergraduate and graduate students on a Strategic Plan for Community Development, Fundraising, and Volunteerism in the Santo Domingo, DR, that includes grant-writing, feasibility studies, website development, and public service announcements.

In addition to her teaching and scholarship, Fitzpatrick has served Alvernia University in administrative positions as the Founding Coordinator of the Schuylkill Center, Director of Instructional Standards; Director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies for Community Leadership and as the first Director for the Office of Distance Education, during which distance education offerings increased by more than 150%. Currently, she is exploring social entrepreneurship ventures that tap into her values connecting creative expression, community-based research, and worldwide literacy efforts.

Jodi Radosh, Ph.D.

Dr. Radosh is an expert in strategic communication and media relations. She is an award winning scholar and journalist and specializes in the areas of journalism, health communications, public relations, and advertising. Dr. Radosh has delivered presentations and workshops at international, national, and state conferences. Dr. Radosh is the Associate Director for the Holleran Center for Community Engagement and a Professor of Communications at Alvernia University. She recently received a mini MBA in digital marketing from Rutgers University, which emphasized social media marketing, mobile marketing, video marketing, search engine optimization, gamification, multichannel integration, and web analytics.

She has extensive experience in media and has worked on-air at several television news stations throughout Pennsylvania. She founded, anchored, and produced “CNN Headline News Local Edition” on Blue Ridge Cable in Lancaster, PA as well as co-hosted the magazine show “Around Your Town.” Most recently, she was a weekend reporter at WGAL-TV Channel 8, the NBC affiliate in Lancaster/Harrisburg/York, PA. She currently is a co-host for election night coverage and moderates political debates on Berks Community Television (BCTV) in Reading, PA.

She has provided media training and crisis communications workshops to clients including prominent politicians, physicians, and business leaders. She also has overseen many video projects for corporate and community agencies including Lehigh Valley Hospital, Berks County Domestic Violence Task Force, and Skate America, the International Skating Competition. She has partnered her communication classes with many nonprofit organizations to develop public relations and advertising campaigns for such clients in Berks County, PA as Opportunity House, Children’s Home of Reading, Berks Talkline, Literacy Council of Reading - Berks, and the Berks County Pandemic Advisory Council.

Dr. Radosh has unique experience in health and medical communications. She possesses intimate knowledge of effective media channels for healthcare professionals. She has collaborated with physicians to conduct research on healthcare issues and was awarded a grant to conduct a content analysis on media coverage of recent controversial breast cancer screening guidelines. Moreover, physicians, nurses, and medical administrators have consulted her on how to successfully target their messages to the media as well as optimize their media interviews.

As a scholar, she has been recognized for her progressive research in media studies and journalism. She was recently awarded a $100,000 grant by the Knight Foundation and Berks County Community Foundation to enhance citizen journalism on Berks Community Television (bctv.org). Dr. Radosh has earned numerous grants and awards including an Innovation Grant for Curriculum Development (2012), Teaching Excellence Summer Grant (2011), Senior Citizen Video Grant from the Pennsylvania Office of Aging (2006), Crisis Communication Grant from Pennsylvania Campus Compact and Pennsylvania Management Agency (PEMA) (2004), Sr. Mary Donatilla Legacy Award for Outstanding Faculty Service (2007), and Loaves and Fishes Award for Faculty Excellence (2003). She has been inducted into the following honor societies: Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, and Delta Epsilon Sigma Scholastic Honor Society for Students and Faculty.

She obtained a Ph.D. in Mass Media and Communications and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Temple University. Her bachelor’s degree in Communications and English is from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. Her dissertation research in Defining Sensationalism in Local Television News was honored by the Broadcast Educators Association (BEA). She recently received a mini MBA in digital marketing from Rutgers University. She was also selected into Rutgers University’s elite Cap and Skull Honor Society.

Jonathan H. Silver, Ph.D.

Silver’s executive experience includes the following: Vice President of Client Services, ICR Research, where he designed and conducted customer satisfaction, advertising and branding, product development, marketing and sales, and public policy studies for a variety of corporate, governmental and academic clients; Vice President of Research, Working Data Group where he designed and implemented quantitative and qualitative research studies for corporate clients worth over $2 million in annual sales; and Director of Customer Services & Marketing, GPU Energy, where he directed customer satisfaction studies, load research projects, sales forecasts and annual strategic marketing plans. At GPU Silver served as a member of the marketing management team that established, monitored and achieved $20 million in annual, incremental sales. He was also honored at GPU for the following:


  • Earning top honors in annual, statewide regulatory reports for reduced complaints to regulators
  • Reducing customer account delinquencies by nearly $5 million over a 3–year period
  • Implementing new human services programs which earned national awards and recognition for the company
